FAMILY TRAVEL GUIDE
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Some family-friendly places around San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast that we love.

Northern California

SKI

Sugarbowl
North Lake Tahoe

Winter in Lake Tahoe means skiing and snowboarding. The kids can take all day lessons while you enjoy the slopes too.

PADDLE BOARD

Sand Harbor Beach
North Lake Tahoe

Summer in Lake Tahoe is equally as fun and beautiful as winter, with lots of beaches for playing, swimming, and paddle boarding.

EAT

Hog Island Oyster Farm
Tomales Bay

Farm fresh oysters worth the drive. Pack bread, wine, charcuterie and cheeses to go with the shellfish for the ultimate picnic.

CHERRY PICKING

Salvador Family Farm
Brentwood

On the first week of June cherry farms open up to the public. It is a fun way for kids to learn about where food comes from.

BEACH, FARM, FLOWERS

Pescadero Beach
Pescadero

Spend all day here starting with coffee and brunch on main street. Tour Harley Goat Dairy Farm and pick up cheeses. Then play the rest of the day at the beach until sunset.

STRAWBERRY PICKING

Pick organic strawberries and seasonal berries year round at this family farm, which also sells pies, jams, cobblers, truffles and cider at their farm stand.
